Abstract
The increasing demand for renewable energy
sources has spurred research into alternative crops capable of producing
sustainable bioenergy. Pennisetum glaucum (pearl millet), traditionally
valued for its resilience to harsh growing conditions, is now being evaluated
for its bioenergy potential. This article reviews the feasibility of utilizing Pennisetum
glaucum for bioenergy, examining its biomass yield, energy conversion
efficiency, and the economic and environmental impacts of its cultivation and
processing.
